Just about every make and model of vehicle have different circumstances when a calibration is required. Combined with the different ways each system function, it can be a challenge to identify when an ADAS calibration is required. Below are some of the more common circumstances that will lead to the need for an ADAS calibration.
TOYOTA
360 Degree Camera System, Cameras in Decklid (only if 360 equipped), Front Bumper Cover/Grille, Left/Right Side Mirrors, with or without DTC
If vehicle height changes because of suspension or tire replacement
If rear camera is replaced or installation angle changes
If front camera, bumper, or radiator grille assembly is replaced; or because of replacement or removal and installation of 2 or more parts
If side camera or outer rear view mirror assembly is replaced or installation angle of side camera changes due to installation; or because of replacement or removal and installation of 2 or more parts
Camera Near Rearview Mirror, with or without DTC
If camera is removed or replaced
Forward RADAR for Adaptive Cruise Control, Collision Warning, Collision Braking...with or without DTC
If sensor is installed
If bumper cover or grille is installed
If DTC indicates need for calibration
Toyota RADAR adjust button for Adaptive Cruise Control
Rear RADAR for Blind Spot Detection, Rear Cross Traffic...with or without DTC
If sensor is installed
Toyota Blind Spot Warning in Mirror; Utilizes RADAR in rear bumper to detect
Ultrasonic Sensor in Front Bumper Cover/Grille for Park Assist, with or without DTC
If front bumper cover is replaced or installation position changes
If ultrasonic sensor is removed, replaced, becomes misaligned, or is subjected to impact
Ultrasonic Sensor in Rear Bumper Cover for Park Assist, with or without DTC
If vehicle height changes because of suspension or tire replacement
