Just about every make and model of vehicle have different circumstances when a calibration is required. Combined with the different ways each system function, it can be a challenge to identify when an ADAS calibration is required. Below are some of the more common circumstances that will lead to the need for an ADAS calibration.
HONDA
Camera in Side MIrror, calibrate if any condition is met (with or without DTC)
If camera unit is R/R or R/I
If passenger side mirror is R/R or R/I
If front passenger side door is R/R or R/I
If front passenger side door is adjusted or any repairs are made to it
Camera near Windshield/Rearview Mirror, calibrate if any condition is met (with or without DTC)
If windshield is R/R or R/I
If camera unit is R/R or R/I
If any structural repairs are made to vehicle
If SRS system has deployed
After wheel alignment
If DTC indicates calibration is required
RADAR behind of Front Bumper/Grille (Center), calibrate if any condition is met (with or without DTC)
If RADAR unit is R/R or R/I
If front bumper cover is repaired within 300mm of RADAR unit
If any structural repairs are made to vehicle
If SRS system has deployed
After wheel alignment
If DTC indicates calibration is required
RADAR in Rear Bumper (Side), calibrate if any condition is met (with or without DTC)
If RADAR unit is R/R or R/I
If body panel repair is made near RADAR mounting locations
IF rear end structural repairs are made
If DTC indicates calibration is required
After a wheel alignment
Honda Blind Spot Monitoring Alert-utilizes RADAR in rear bumper to detect
Honda Adaptive Cruise Control (uses front RADAR), and Lake Keep Assist (uses Forward Camera)
